  • We use our door to door Track n Trace technology to monitor individually QR coded boxes and other stored items every step of the way during transit and storage;
  • Your items are stored in secure commercial grade storage facilities with 24/7 CCTV and security monitoring;
  • There is no public access to SpacePAL’s storage facilities to ensure total security for our customers.  Simply use your SpacePAL app 24/7 to schedule a storage supplies drop off, storage pick up, or return delivery of the boxes and items you need.  We do the rest.
  • Stored items are only opened if you request a Storage Check, or for repacking when the 20kg weight maximum is exceeded, or when there is a risk of damage to storage or injury to our team;

SpaceCOVER - Complimentary Damage and Loss Protection

Standard SpaceCOVER is complimentary and provides up to $150 damage or loss protection per box or other stored item during transit and storage.  Just make sure your stored items are listed in your online storage catalogue, meet our Packing Standards, and are not listed as a Prohibited Storage Contents or Service to be protected.

Additional SpaceCOVER of up to $300, $450, and $600 per box or other storage item can be purchased for a small monthly fee.  You can adjust your level of SpaceCOVER for all your storage holdings using your app user account. Also, many home and contents insurance policies may provide cover during storage, so it is recommended you contact your insurer to clarify.

When packing your boxes, please ensure fragile items are securely packed using bubble wrap and paper stuffing. Let us know if you need us to arrange extra packing supplies for you. To assist your packing, these will be dropped off with your boxes and/or Storage ID Tags for other items to store.

Storing your OWN BOXES with SpacePAL

Use our app to order delivery of Storage ID TAGS to attach to your own boxes to store.  These TAGS are individually QR Coded so we can track each box and its contents using SpacePAL’s storage technology.

We will then collect and store your boxes. Use our app to select which boxes you need returned from storage.  We apply a monthly pay-per-box storage rate for small (Up to 40L), medium (40-80L) and large (80-100L) box sizes.  Storage charges only commence once your boxes are picked up and checked in.

Please contact us if your boxes are over 100L capacity and we will provide a storage quote.

Handy Hints for Storing Your Own Boxes

  • Save time, order a One Stop Check In so our driver can deliver your required Storage ID TAGS, help you attach these to your boxes and then transit your boxes to storage in one visit;
  • You can determine if you require a small, medium or large Storage ID TAG for your own boxes  by measuring and calculating the Box Volume Capacity (L) = Box Length (M) x Box Width (M) x Box Height (M);

To ensure the safety of our team and customers stored items, we do not store any illegal or controlled substances, hazardous materials, liquids, perishable, or living items. For more information, view our Prohibited Storage Contents and Services List.

How to Check In Your Storage

What is a Standard Check In and how does it work?

Standard Check In is a simple three-step process where SpacePAL drops off your Storage Supplies (Space PAL Boxes, Storage ID TAGS and optional packing supplies), you pack, and we then return to pick up and check in your storage. We also collect unused SpacePAL Boxes and Storage ID Tags at this time.

Step One – Use our app to Order delivery of your SpacePAL Boxes and Other Packing Supplies to pack and prepare storage for collection;

  • Go to your app user account “Inventory Screen” and select the “Boxes and Supplies” option;
  • Select number and type of FREE SpacePAL Boxes and Storage ID TAGS (to attach to other items to store such as your own boxes);
  • Select optional packing supplies required, such as bubble wrap etc;
  • Book a drop off date and time. We generally need 24 hours to plan our delivery routes;
  • Specify the address and designated contact (if not you) for the drop off;
  • We’ll email or call you to confirm your drop off appointment;
  • If after placing your order you need additional SpacePAL Boxes or Storage ID TAGS, our driver can provide these when they drop off your storage supplies.  Please contact SpacePAL directly to arrange this;
  • Our driver will text you when they are approx. 30 mins from arriving.

Step Two – Pack and prepare for your storage pick up and check in, by:

  • Packing SpacePAL Boxes – Use our app user account to catalogue contents, pack and tape seal each box;
  • Packing Your Own Boxes – Attach correct Storage ID TAG, catalogue contents, pack and tape seal your box;
  • Packing Other Items to Store – Attach correct Storage ID TAG, catalogue item, and ensure item is sealed or closed.

Step 3 – Schedule a Storage Check In to have our driver pick up your packed storage;

  • Go to your app user account “Inventory Screen” and select the “Check In” option;
  • Select the SpecePAL Boxes and Other Storage Items (with Storage TAGS attached) to be picked up and checked in;
  • Specify the address and designated contact (if not you) for the storage pick up;
  • We’ll email or call you to confirm your check in appointment;
  • If needed, your driver can provide more SpacePAL Boxes, Storage ID TAGS, and optional packing supplies during Storage Check In.  Please contact SpacePAL directly to arrange this;
  • All unused SpacePAL Boxes, Storage ID TAGS and Tape Dispensers must be returned to our driver during your Storage Check In appointment;
  • Our driver will show you a summary of the storage collected and any incidental charges before processing a charge to your nominated credit card;
  • Use your app user account to track your boxes and other stored items every step of the way.

How do I build my Online Storage Catalogue?

Its easy.  Never forget what you have in storage again! Simply use your smart phone or tablet with your SpacePAL app user account to photograph your items and assign them to their relevant SpacePAL Boxes, Own Boxes, or Other Storage Items.

It’s up to you how you structure your Online Storage Catalogue. You can take a photo of the entire contents of a SpacePAL Box, Own Box, or Other Storage Item, or photograph and catalogue each storage units contents individually.

You can then view, manage item descriptions, and order Check In’s and Check Outs using your online storage catalogue.  We recommend you catalogue your stored items, as these will then be covered by our complimentary SpaceCOVER loss and damage protection.

What if I need more SpacePAL Boxes and Storage ID TAGS after placing my initial order?

No problem. Our drivers always carriy extra SpacePAL Boxes, Storage ID TAGS, and optional packing supplies.  They can easily supply these during your packing supplies drop off or storage collection appointments.

To ensure our drivers have enough storage supplies onboard, please contact our friendly Customer Care Team when you require a larger quantity of SpacePAL Boxes, Storage ID TAGS or optional packing supplies.

What if I can’t be present for my Storage Supplies Drop Off or Storage Pick Up?
No problem.  You can designate another person to be your primary appointment contact in your absence.

For example – Have your storage supplies dropped off to a friend, or leave your packed storage at your work reception to be collected.  Our driver will work with your designated contact to complete the appointment.

How to set up your Designated Appointment Contact

  • Go to your app user account “Account – Address Book”;
  • Edit an existing delivery address or create a new address with the designated contacts name;
  • Select this address as your Check In address when scheduling your SpacePAL appointment.

For your security, you or your designated contact must provide photo ID to the Driver at the appointment.

How to Check Out Your Storage 

How do I Permanently Check Out or Retire selected boxes and items?

If you no longer require some or all of your items to be stored, schedule a Permanent Check Out to have the boxes and other items you select returned to where you need, or have the items to be retired by SpacePAL.

1) Have SpacePAL return deliver the boxes and items you need, by:

  • Going to your app user account “Inventory Screen” and select the “Permanent Check Out” option;
  • Select the SpacePAL Boxes and other stored items you need returned;
  • Select the Permanent Check Out” option;
  • Specify the address and designated contact (if not you) for the storage to be returned to.
  • We’ll email or call you to confirm your return delivery appointment;
  • Our driver will text you when they are approx. 30 mins from arriving to return your storage;
  • Our driver will show you a summary of the storage returned and any incidental charges before processing a charge to your nominated credit card;
  • Use your app user account to track your boxes and other stored items every step of the way.

2) Have SpacePAL Donate or Dispose of selected boxes and items on your behalf, by;

  • Going to your app user account “Inventory Screen” and select the “Permanent Check Out” option;
  • Select the SpacePAL Boxes and other stored items to be retired;
  • Select the “Retire My Storage” option for a cost of $15-00 per box or item;
  • SpacePAL will endeavour to donate your storage to a local charity.

How do I Temporarily Check Out selected boxes and items?

Temporary Check Out is great if you just need a box back to retrieve some contents and then retiurn it to storage.

Re-checking In these items into storage is an easy process as SpacePAL picks up temporarily checked out items and checks them back into storage for FREE if picked up from an in-zone suburb.

1) Have SpacePAL Temporarily Check Out the boxes and items you select, by:

  • Going to your app user account “Inventory Screen” and select the “Temporary Check Out” option;
  • Select the boxes and other stored items to be temporarily checked out;
  • Select the “Check Out ” option;
  • Specify the address and designated contact (if not you) for the storage to be returned to.
  • We’ll email or call you to confirm your return delivery appointment;
  • Our driver will text you when they are approx. 30 mins from arriving to return your storage.
  • Our driver will show you a summary of the storage returned and any incidental charges before billing your nominated credit card;
  • Use our app to track your boxes and other stored items every step of the way.

Does SpacePAL charge me for Check Out activity?

Permanent and Temporary Check Out and return delivery of boxes and other items costs $9-50 per unit. No other incidental charges for Temporary and Permanent Check Outs will apply if your designated delivery address is to an in-zone suburb, your appointment is during our normal business hours, and you provide at least 24 hours notice.

What if I can’t be present for the Return Delivery of my storage?
No problem. You can designate another person to be your primary appointment contact in your absence.

Have your SpacePAL Box or other stored item(s) delivered to your work reception, to a friend’s place.

If I move outside SpacePAL's service coverage area, how do I get my items back?
We can provide a quote to courier or ship your storage to out of zone areas, or we can help facilitate shipping with the shipping company you choose.

Payments

Why SpacePAL is the better storage option?
Unlike traditional storage units and trailer storage options where you pay for a fixed amount for space, SpacePAL only charges storage by-the-box or item. Our monthly storage rates start from $4.00 per box so you only pay for actual storage space used.

SpacePAL becomes even more affordable when you consider our complimentary in-zone delivery of FREE storage boxes, FREE in-zone storage pick-up, and complimentary SpaceCOVER loss and damage protection. We also supply and deliver bubble wrap, enviro wrap, packing paper and dry cells at competitive rates.

Do I need to pay anything for my storage Check In?
If your check in address is an in-zone suburb, SpacePAL will drop off your complimentary storage Boxes and/or Storage ID TAGS, and then return up to two weeks later to pick up your packed storage, all free of charge. Please note, additional service charges will apply if you require same day, after hours, or an out of zone service.

SpacePAL does charge a $1-00 order deposit for storage orders to ensure your credit card details are loaded and working correctly.  This amount will be refunded following storage Check In.

When do I get my first storage bill?
Your first month of storage, optional SpaceCOVER and packing supplies, and incidental check in charges are billed to your stored card at your storage Check In.

Your first Check In date then becomes your monthly anniversary billing date.  Your next monthly storage and optional SpaceCOVER charge will be processed one month after this initial check in date.

What happens if my card payment does not process?
You will be notified of a missed card payment, with the opportunity to update your card payment details in your account to retry payment.  If missed card payments continue a SpacePAL Customer Care Team member will contact you to discuss payment options.

Other Things

Can I return my used SpaceBOXES after I have unpacked them?
Of Course. We’ll pick up used SpacePAL Boxes for re-use or recycling dependent on condition. These collections are dependent on driver availability and can only be conducted in-zone during normal operating hours.

SpacePAL's Packing Tips
We provide a range of high quality SpacePAL Boxes to protect your valuable storage.  With up to two weeks to pack and catalogue your storage after your storage supplies drop off, you can schedule packing time into your busy life.

Please utilise the following advice to assist the safe and secure packing of your SpacePAL Boxes, or your Own Boxes.

  • Sort like items before packing. This makes it easier to check out specific boxes later when you need like items.
  • Ensure the bottom of the box is securely taped to provide a secure and safe packing base.
  • It’s best to pack heavy items on the bottom of the box and lighter items on top.
  • Fill the empty space of the box using butchers paper, bubble wrap, or enviro wrap.
  • Don’t pack boxes to be heavier than 20 kilograms. To ensure team safety, SpacePAL will repack overweight boxes.
  • Ensure all boxes can close and are well sealed on top. Your storage can be damaged if your box is bulging or out of shape. There are “Where to Tape” guides on every SpacePAL Box to help you out.
  • Never pack damp storage and always place SpacePAL Dry Cells in boxes to minimise the potential for moisture damage.
